2008/2009 Improvements as reported at Tug Talk Bremerton
- Two years ago Lady experimented on the bright work by putting down a System 5 epoxy base and covering that with West Marine Wood Pro Plus. The results were disappointing as the Wood Pro failed during the first winter and the epoxy thereafter. This year, with much difficulty the wood was sanded bare and then covered with 3 coats of Cetol Natural Teak finish and two coats of Cetol Gloss. The inside of the doors were finished in a like manner. Cetol's Natural Teak matches the pilot house's finish well.
- Replaced the manual saltwater head with a Tecma Easyfit low profile toilet ($800). It's electric, quiet, uses fresh water, uses very little water, and smells much better. The standard profile toilet would have been too tall because of the little platform the head sits on.
