About the Owners (past and present)

Ken and Heidi Maitland were owners of several sailboats from 1972 - 2010, ending with a Tayana 37. They most recently owned a Mainship 34 for 5 years before finding PUFFIN in Wilmington, NC in March 2015. (Inspiration for buying a LNVT came from seeing JOHN WILLIAMS in Merritt Island, Florida in 2012.) The Maitlands have cruised over the years in New England, alternating summer trips to Maine and Cape Cod, and then after both retired, winter trips to Florida in 2009 and 2012, Bahamas in 2009.

First living in Marblehead, Massachusetts, then Cohasset, Massachusetts they now live in Kingston, Massachusetts — all towns with good harbors!

With the name changed to VICTORIOUS, hull #26 got some updating and refinishing. The decks have been stripped of several layers of varnish, the steering has been repaired, new batteries purchased, some redecorating has been accomplished. Solar panels, 260 watts, were added to the pilothouse roof. The main doors to the cockpit were stripped and refinished, the boom was reinstalled in much better shape and a new mast was installed. Other innumerable projects were planned and executed.

Our big cruise on VICTORIOUS was 2016-2017 from Cohasset MA to the Florida Keys and return by way of the Florda west coast and Lake Okeechobee to Massachusetts.
